PRESIDENT'S MAY MESSAGE:

Farewell to a Multi-Million Dollar Man Many of us remember the TV show, “The Six Million Dollar
Man,” a man near death, who is revived using a millions of dollars of bionics, giving him
super-natural powers. The recent passing of Lion Roger Sherman concludes the life of a man who lived our motto: “We Serve.” I am not attempting to monetize Roger’s life (he was priceless to those of us who knew him), but to demonstrate that his life of service bequeathed our island and numerous people substantial benefits.

His father, Clark Sherman, was a charter member of the Coupeville Lions. Roger followed in his dad’s footsteps, becoming a long-time member of our club. He donated many hours to many club service projects, too numerous to mention. The hours Roger’s farm trucks donated to our annual garage sale were worth thousands of dollars. He served as club President and
led our highway clean-up for many years. And don’t forget his wife Darlene’s help with many club functions including baking pies and serving dinner for the Lions Club when the Methodist Women provided weekly meals.

THINGS TO KNOW NOW
